    1 Navien Tankless Installation Guide

$1900 upfront - $1300 rebate check = $600 final cost Model: NPE180S2, installation, and most materials included.

    2 Navien Tankless Installation Guide

$3800 upfront - $2600 rebate check = $1200 final cost You get (2) Navien NPE-180S2, installation, and most materials included.

Read the "How to get started" section below for detailed information and links to submit all your paperwork. Same day installs available. This is our most popular price structure when we provide the new tankless water heater unit from one of our suppliers: upfront cost - rebates = final cost usually about $600 each.

If you already purchase your own unit and you don't want us to provide them for you, the cost structure changes to this: $800 labor each + material + water heater. (If you choose to pull a permit, that fee is not included in these prices. If you prefer a referral for a licensed install that is an additional $1500)

    How to get started

🤯 Who is eligible: RENTERS, HOMEOWNERS, MULTI-FAMLY PROPERTY & COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS with NATURAL GAS water heaters.

    1. Call SoCalGas at (888) 431‑2226 ext. 3 to verify that your address is eligible for the SOCALGAS SELF INSTALL TANKLESS WATER HEATER REBATE and you can also ask questions. They will direct you to buy from SOCALGAS marketplace but that is more expensive than us!

    2. Send text message to (323) 432-0008 with pictures of your existing unit and send your address. Also include date you are ready to install.

    3. We remove old unit for recycling, install unit, and set temperature.

    4. You submit payment in CASH on completion choose: upfront cost $1900 each Navien or $2100 each Rinnai. This price includes labor, new tankless, installation, & recycling of old unit. There are no additional labor or installation fees to be paid. You pay: upfront cost - rebates = final cost plus $100 per year savings on gas cost in your pocket.

    5. We send you PDF receipt for SOCALGAS, you take picture of water heaters installed, information sticker of each water heater showing serial/model number and you upload these items to your SOCALGAS rebate application on your user account webpage. You get the rebates in a few weeks on a visa gift card. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, please refer to SoCalGas’s official rebate page: https://www.socalgas.com/important-notices-for-rebates

    6. (Optional Steps After Install) Pull permit as owner or your contractor and complete permit inspection. We do not require you to pull permit but it is advised to do so if homeowners insurance/local ordinances require it.

If you are filing for 2 tankless water heaters: (water heater upfront cost X 2) - (water heater rebate X 2) =$1200 final cost.

💰 Get $75 per referral you send to me, up to $150 per home! (tell them to enter email address at top of page) Most homes / condo / apartments are eligible for 2 tankless water heaters. Commercial property referrals qualify for more!

This is made possible by an efficiency rating based rebate from  $800-1500 (per water heater) sent from SOCALGAS.

The water heater will be a leading manufacturer like Rheem, A.O. Smith, Rinnai, Navien, Takagi, Noritz, or STATE tankless water heaters. The unit for your installation depends on current stock but all qualify for the discounts, are high efficiency, and come with 12-15 year manufacturer warranty, and “tankless trooper seamless process pledge and lifetime installation warranty.”

When two units are connected in tandem they communicate with cable to share the heating load which extends the unit lifetime expectancy for each unit and improves efficiency yield.

What's Included for the different price levels?

    - Removal & recycle of old unit

    - High efficiency tankless water heater & 15-25 year warranty from manufacturer

    - Full installation and setup

    - Lifetime installation warranty

This is how the process works for renters: We remove the old tank water heater unit and recycle it. We then install 1 or 2 new ones at $1500-2100 each depending on the size of your rental home. You pay the cost upfront of $1500-2100 each. You get a $800-1500 visa debit prepaid debit card or rebate check. So as long as you pay federal taxes, you are a socalgas customer, you have spoken with your landlord, then you can proceed.

    Who Qualifies for SoCalGas Rebate?

    - Property owners, multi family property, and renters!

    - You are an active SoCalGas customer with a gas meter at your address.

    - You are replacing a gas water heater with a qualifying ENERGY STAR tankless model.

    - You submit the purchase receipt.

    - Your property is an existing home, condo, apartment, multi-unit structure. (no new construction).

    - The installation is completed safely with proper gas, venting, and water line connections to code.

    - The water heater is up-front at a residential property served by SoCalGas (no off-grid).

    - You haven’t already claimed a rebate for tankless units at that same address in the recent past, call to inquire if you have. You may sometimes still qualify

    Primary Residence Owners & Renters

This is how the process works for renters: We remove the old tank water heater unit and recycle it. We then install 1 or 2 new ones at $1500-2100 each depending on the size of your rental home. You pay the cost upfront of $1500-2100 each. You get a $800-1500 visa debit prepaid debit card in a few weeks. As long as you are a socalgas customer then you can proceed.

Investment property owners / Multi-Unit Properties Tax Credit

Investment residences (including multi-family) can claim the rebate using the renter’s name and SoCalGas account number, and also claim depreciation for each water heater. For multifamily properties, each gas meter/living space can qualify for two tankless water heaters.

Who Does Not Qualify for SoCalGas Rebate

    - You’re not a SoCalGas customer (must have an active SoCalGas account).

    - You’re using propane or electric only—natural gas connection is required.

    - You don’t install a qualifying ENERGY STAR tankless unit (must meet efficiency and model criteria by SOCALGAS).

    - You already claimed a rebate for the same address in recent years (check eligibility limits per household, additional rebate applications may be accepted.)

    Important Notes

    - Tankless Troopers are non-licensed plumbing labor technicians.

    - Licensed install available for $1500 additional contractor fee. Any permit or paperwork fees the customer will pay.

    - References that have gotten their rebates are available upon request

    - It is advised to get a dedicated circuit(plug) to feed the tankless water heater at some time in the future if there is not a dedicated outlet up-front already. This usually costs $200-300 and is recovered by your gas saving yearly, so essentially it remains budge friendly after all cost. The unit draws very little electrical power as it is mainly gas powered but the manufactures prefer a dedicated outlet. We can install the circuit for you in most cases but in other cases we cannot. So no electrical materials are included in this price but we will install a temporary working plug, use existing nearby plug, or run a new circuit from the breaker panel if relatively easy or connect you with an electrical technician to run that circuit. Depending on where your breaker is located in the home may require patching small holes or strips in the drywall created to run the wires through the studs in hard to access cases. Generally it is advised to install outside as an alternative to running wires through the walls if there is access through the wall/attic/crawlspace to water lines and close proximity to the breaker panel.
